۵۷۶۱.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله: المَريضُ تَحاتُّ خَطاياهُ كَما يَتَحاتُّ وَرَقُ الشَّجَرِ .۱
۵۷۶۱.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The wrongdoings of a sick person shed away from him like the shedding of leaves from a tree.' ۲
۵۷۶۲.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله: لا يَمرَضُ مؤمنٌ ولا مؤمنةٌ ولا مسلمٌ ولا مسلمةٌ إلّا حَطَّ اللَّهُ بهِ خَطيئتَهُ .۳
۵۷۶۲.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'No believer and Muslim - man or woman - fall sick except that Allah will wipe ou their sins.' ۴
۵۷۶۳.الإمامُ الباقرُ أو الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليهما السلام : سَهَرُ لَيلَةٍ مِن مَرَضٍ أو وَجَعٍ أفضَلُ وأعظَمُ أجراً مِن عِبادَةِ سَنَةٍ .۵
۵۷۶۳. Imam al-Baqir or Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'Staying awake from sickness or pain for one night carries a greater reward than the worship of one year.' ۶
۵۷۶۴.الإمامُ الكاظمُ عليه السلام : إذا مَرِضَ المؤمنُ أوحَى اللَّهُ عَزَّوجلَّ إلى صاحِبِ الشِّمالِ : لا تَكتُبْ على عَبدي مادامَ في حَبسي ووَثاقي ذَنباً. ويُوحي إلى صاحِبِ اليَمينِ أنِ اكتُبْ لِعَبدي ما كُنتَ تَكتُبُهُ في صِحَّتِهِ مِن الحَسَناتِ .۷
۵۷۶۴.Imam al-Kazim (AS) said, 'When a believer becomes sick, Allah reveals unto the angel on his left [shoulder], 'Do not write a sin for my servant as long as he is in My confinement and My grasp, and He reveals unto the angel on his right [shoulder], 'Write for My servant what you were writing for him in merits when he was healthy.'
.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : قالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّوجلَّ : مَن مَرِضَ ثلاثاً فلَم يَشكُ إلى أحَدٍ مِن عُوّادِهِ أبدَلتُهُ لَحماً خَيراً مِن لَحمِهِ ودَماً خَيراً مِن دَمهِ، فإن عافَيتُهُ عافَيتُهُ ولا ذَنبَ لَهُ، وإن قَبَضتُهُ قَبَضتُهُ إلى رَحمَتي .۱
۵۷۶۵.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Allah Almighty has said, 'Whoever becomes sick three times and does not complain to any of his visitors, I change his flesh to flesh better than what he has and blood better than his blood. If I cure him, then I will cure him and he will have no sin, and if I take him [in death], I will take him to My Mercy.' ۲
۵۷۶۶.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : مِن كُنوزِ البِرِّ : كِتمانُ المَصائبِ ، والأمراضِ ، والصَّدَقَةِ .۳
۵۷۶۶.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'From among the treasures of righteousness are: concealing one's tragedies, sicknesses and charity.' ۴
۵۷۶۷.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : مَن كَتَمَ وَجَعاً أصابَهُ ثلاثةَ أيّامٍ مِنالنّاسِ وشَكا إلَىاللَّهِ، كانَ حَقّاً علَى اللَّهِ أن يُعافِيَهُ مِنهُ.۵
۵۷۶۷.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Whoever suppresses pain that he has been inflicted with for three days from people and complains to Allah instead, Allah will rightfully cure him from it.' ۶
۵۷۶۸.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : مَن كَتَمَ الأطِبّاءَ مَرَضَهُ خانَ بَدَنَهُ .۷
۵۷۶۸.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Whoever conceals his sickness from physicians has betrayed his body.' ۸
۵۷۶۹.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام: مَن كَتَمَ مَكنونَ دائهِ عَجَزَ طَبيبُهُ عَن شِفائهِ .۹
۵۷۶۹.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Whoever conceals his hidden sickness, his physician will not be able to cure it.' ۱۰
.داوودُ عليه السلام - كانَ يقولُ - : اللّهُمّ لا مَرَضٌ يُضنِيني ، ولا صِحَّةٌ تُنسِيني ، ولكنْ بينَ ذلكَ .۱
۵۷۷۰. Prophet David (AS), would say, 'O Allah, [do not give me] sickness that weakens me nor health that makes me forget [You], rather a state in between them both.' ۲
۵۷۷۱.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : كَفى بالسَّلامَةِ داءً .۳
۵۷۷۱.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Continuous health suffices as an ailment.' ۴
۵۷۷۲.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : إنّ اللَّهَ يُبغِضُ العِفرِيَةَ النِّفرِيَةَ الّذي لَم يُرزَأ في جِسمِهِ ولا مالهِ .۵
۵۷۷۲.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Indeed Allah hates a wicked evil person who does not endure any harm in his body or his wealth.' ۶
۵۷۷۳.الإمامُ الباقرُ عليه السلام : الجَسَدُ إذا لم يَمرَضْ أشِرَ ، ولا خَيرَ في جَسَدٍ يَأشَرُ .۷
۵۷۷۳.Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, 'If a body does not become sick it continues to make merry, and there is no good in a body that [only] makes merry.' ۸
رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : إنَّ اللَّه عَزَّوجلَّ يقولُ يَومَ القِيامَةِ : يابنَ آدمَ، مَرِضتُ فلَم تَعُدْني ! قالَ: ياربِّ، كيفَ أعودُكَ وأنتَ رَبُّ العالَمينَ ؟! قالَ: أما عَلِمتَ أنّ عَبديَ فُلاناً مَرِضَ فلَم تَعُدْهُ ؟ ! أما عَلِمتَ أنّكَ لَو عُدتَهُ لَوَجَدتَني عِندَهُ ؟ !۱
۵۷۷۴.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Allah Almighty will say on the Day of Resurrection , 'O son of Adam, I became sick and you did not visit Me!' and he will ask, 'O Lord, how can I visit You when You are the Lord of the worlds?' He Almighty will say, 'Did you not know that My servant so and so became sick and you did not visit him?! Did you not know that if you had visited him you would have found Me there with him [visiting a sick person is as visiting Allah]?!' ۲
۵۷۷۵.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : عائدُ المَريضِ يَخوضُ في الرَّحمَةِ .۳
۵۷۷۵.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The one who visits the sick dives into [divine] mercy.' ۴
۵۷۷۶.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : عُودوا المَريضَ واتبَعوا الجَنازَةَ يُذَكِّرْكُم الآخِرَةَ .۵
۵۷۷۶.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'Visit the sick and attend funerals, they will remind you of the Hereafter.' ۶
۵۷۷۷.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : مَن عادَ مَريضاً شَيَّعَهُ سَبعونَ ألفَ ملَكٍ يَستَغفِرونَ لَهُ حتّى يَرجِعَ إلى مَنزلِهِ .۷
۵۷۷۷.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'Whoever visits a sick person, seventy thousand angels will escort him seeking forgiveness for him until he returns to his house.' ۸
۵۷۷۸.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : خَيرُ العِيادَةِ أخَفُّها .۱
۵۷۷۸.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The best kind of visit [of the sick] is the briefest one.' ۲
۵۷۷۹.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : إنّ مِن أعظَمِ العُوّادِ أجراً عندَ اللَّهِ عَزَّوجلَّ لَمَن إذا عادَ أخاهُ خَفَّفَ الجُلوسَ، إلّا أن يَكونَ المَريضُ يُحِبُّ ذلكَ ويُريدُهُ ويَسألُهُ ذلكَ .۳
۵۷۷۹.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The visitor with the greatest reward with Allah is he who when he visits he sits briefly, unless the sick person likes the company and wants and asks [him to sit longer].' ۴
۵۷۸۰.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : العِيادَةُ قَدرُ فُواقِ ناقَةٍ أو حَلبِ ناقَةٍ .۵
۵۷۸۰.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'Visiting should be the length of time it takes to milk a camel.' ۶
۵۷۸۱.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام: تَمامُ العِيادَةِ للمَريضِ أن تَضَعَ يَدَكَ على ذِراعِهِ وتُعَجِّلَ القِيامَ مِن عِندِهِ ؛ فإنَّ عِيادَةَ النَّوكى أشَدُّ علَى المَريضِ مِن وَجَعِهِ .۷
۵۷۸۱.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'The complete visit of the sick should be just long enough for you to put your hand on his arm, and hasten to leave from him, for the visit of the foolish is harder for the sick person to bear than his pain.' ۸
۵۷۸۲.الكافي عن مولىً لجعفرِ بنِ محمّدٍ عليهما السلام: مَرِضَ بعضُ مَواليهِ فخَرَجنا إلَيهِ نَعودُهُ ونَحنُ عِدَّةٌ مِن مَوالي جعفرٍ ، فاستَقبَلَنا جعفرٌ عليه السلام في بعضِ الطّريقِ ، فقالَ لنا : أينَ تُريدونَ ؟ فَقُلنا: نُريدُ فُلاناً نَعودُهُ ، فقالَ لَنا: قِفوا ، فوَقَفنا ، فقالَ : مَع أحَدِكُم تُفّاحَةٌ، أو سَفَرجَلَةٌ ، أو اُترُجَّةٌ ، أو لَعقَةٌ مِن طِيبٍ، أو قِطعَةٌ مِن عُودِ بَخورٍ ؟ فقُلنا : ما مَعنا شيءٌ مِن هذا، فقالَ: أما تَعلَمونَ أنَّ المَريضَ يَستَريحُ إلى كُلِّ ما اُدخِلَ بهِ علَيهِ ؟ !۹
۵۷۸۲. al-Kafi: 'A servant of Imam al-Sadiq (AS) narrated, 'One of his servants became sick so we went to visit him as a group of the servants of Jafar. We met Jafar (AS) on the way, and he asked, 'Where are you going?' We replied, 'We are going to so and so to visit him.' He said, 'Stop.', so we stopped, and he asked, 'Does any of you have an apple or a quince, or a citron, or some perfume or a piece of sandalwood?!' We said, 'No, we do no have any of these?' He said, 'Do you not know that the sick man is comforted by anything that is brought for him.' ۱۰
