| بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كانَتْ مِرْصَاداً * لِلطّاغِينَ مَآباً) .۱
"Indeed hell is an ambush, a resort for the rebels." ۲
۱۲۶۵.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام :احذَروا ناراً لَجَبُها عَتيدٌ ، ولَهَبُهاشَديدٌ ، وعَذابُها أبداً جَديدٌ .۳
۱۲۶۵.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Beware of the Fire whose din is ready, whose flames are fierce, and whose pain is ever fresh.' ۴
۱۲۶۶.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : نارٌ شديدٌ كَلَبُها ، عالٍ لَجَبُها ، ساطِعٌ لَهَبُها ، مُتأجِّجٌ سَعيرُها ، مُتَغيّظٌ زَفيرُها ، بَعيدٌ خُمودُها ، ذاكٍ وَقودُها ، مُتَخوَّفٌ وَعيدُها .۵
۱۲۶۶.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The Fire whose rage is fierce, its din is high, its flame is glowing, its blaze is stirring up, its exhalation is furious, its extinction is remote, its fuel is blazing, and its threat is fearful.' ۶
فَإِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلُوا وَلَنْ تَفْعَلُوا فَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ الَّتِي وَقُودُهَا النّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكافِرِينَ) .۱
"And if you do not-and you will not-then fear the Fire whose fuel will be humans and stones, prepared for the faithless." ۲
(وَأَمّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَباً) .۳
"As for the perverse, they will be firewood for hell
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ * ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ * ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُها سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعاً فَاسْلُكُوهُ) .۱
"Seize him, and fetter him! Then put him into hell. Then, in a chain whose length is seventy cubits, bind him." ۲
۱۲۶۷.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام - مِن قَولِ جبرئيلَ عليه السلام لِرسولِ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله - : لو أنَّ حَلْقةً واحِدةً ، من السِّلسِلةِ الّتي طولُها سَبعونَ ذِراعاً ، وُضِعتْ على الدُّنيا لذابَتِ الدُّنيا مِن حَرِّها .۳
۱۲۶۷.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, relating what Gabriel (AS) once said to the Prophet (SAWA), 'If only one link of the chain whose length is seventy cubits was to be tied down on this world, the world would melt by its
.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام - مِن قَولِ جبرئيلَ عليه السلام لِرسولِ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله - : لَو أنّ سِرْبالاً مِن سَرابيلِ أهلِ النّارِ عُلِّقَ بينَ السَّماءِ والأرضِ لَماتَ أهلُ الدُّنيا مِن رِيحِهِ .۱
۱۲۶۸.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, relating what Gabriel (AS) said to the Prophet (SAWA), 'If only one garment from among the garments of the people of the Fire was to be hung between the sky and the earth, the people of this world would die of its smell.' ۲
لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ * لا يُسْمِنُ وَلا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ) .۱
"They will have no food except cactus, neither nourishing, nor availing against hunger." ۲
(فَلَيْسَ لَهُ اليَوْمَ ههُنا حَمِيمٌ * وَلا طَعَامٌ إِلّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ) .۳
"So he has no friend here today, nor any food except pus." ۴
۱۲۶۹.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : لَو أنَّ دَلْواً صُبَّ من غِسْلينٍ في مَطلَعِ الشّمسِ لَغَلَتْ مِنهُ جَماجِمُ مَن في مَغْرِبِها .۵
۱۲۶۹. Prophet (SAWA) said, 'If a bucket of the pus [of Hell] was to be poured where the sun rises [over this world], the skulls of the people living where it sets would boil.' ۶
۱۲۷۰.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام - مِن قَولِ جبرئيلَ عليه السلام لِرسولِ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله - : لَو أنَّ قَطْرَةً من الضَّريعِ قَطَرتْ في شَرابِ أهلِ الدُّنيا لمَاتَ أهلُها من نَتْنِها .۷
۱۲۷۰.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, relating what Gabriel said to the Prophet (SAWA), 'If one drop of the cactus [of Hell] was to drop in the drink of the people of this world, they would die of its stench.' ۸
(فَشارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ * فَشارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ) .۱
"And drink boiling water on top of it, drinking like thirsty camels." ۲
۱۲۷۱.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : إنَّ أهلَ النّارِ لَمّا غلى الزَّقُّومُ والضَّريعُ في بُطونِهِم كغَلْيِ الحَميِم سَألوا الشَّرابَ ، فاُتوا بشرابٍ غَسّاقٍ وصَديدٍ ، يَتَجرّعُهُ ولا يَكادُ يُسيغُهُ ، ويأتيهِ المَوتُ مِن كلِّ مكانٍ وما هُو بمَيّتٍ .۳
۱۲۷۱.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'When the Zaqqum ۴ and the cactus will boil in the stomachs of the people of the Fire, like boiling water, they will ask for a drink, and will be given a drink made of pus and festering matter. One will swallow it painfully but will not enjoy it, and death will come to him from all sides though he will not die.' ۵
.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : أوَّلُ مَن يَدخُلُ النّارَ أميرٌ مُتَسلّطٌ لم يَعْدِلْ ، وذو ثَرْوَةٍ من المالِ لَم يُعْطِ المالَ حقَّهُ ، وفَقيرٌ فَخورٌ .۱
۱۲۷۲.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The first to enter the Fire will be a domineering ruler who did not maintain justice, a rich man possessing wealth who does not give his due from his wealth, and a poor man who is arrogant.' ۲
.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : أدْنى أهلِ النّارِ عذاباً يَنْتَعِلُ بنَعْلَينِ مِن نارٍ ، يَغْلي دِماغُهُ مِن حَرارَةِ نَعْلَيهِ .۱
۱۲۷۳.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The people of the Fire to experience the least pain will be wearing slippers of fire, whilst their brains will be boiling due to the [intensity of the] heat of their slippers.' ۲
۱۲۷۴.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : أشدُّ النّاسِ عَذاباً يَومَ القيامةِ عالِمٌ لم يَنفَعْهُ عِلمُهُ .۱
۱۲۷۴.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The person to experience the greatest pain on the Day of Resurrection will be the scholar who did not benefit from his own knowledge.' ۲
۱۲۷۵.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : أشدُّ النّاسِ عَذاباً يَومَ القيامةِ رجُلٌ قَتلَ نَبيّاً ، أو قَتلَهُ نَبيٌّ ، وإمامُ ضَلالةٍ .۳
۱۲۷۵.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'The [categories of] people to experience the greatest pain on the Day of Resurrection will be: the man who killed a prophet or was killed by a prophet, the leader of deception.' ۴
۱۲۷۶.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : أشَدُّ النّاسِ عُقوبةً رجُلٌ كافَأَ الإحْسانَ بالإساءَةِ .۵
۱۲۷۶.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The person to experience the greatest punishment will be the man who recompenses good done unto him with evil.' ۶
۱۲۷۷.الإمامُ عليٌّ عليه السلام : أشَدُّ النّاسِ عَذاباً يَومَ القيامةِ المُتَسخِّطُ لِقَضاءِ اللَّهِ .۷
۱۲۷۷.Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The person to experience the greatest pain on the Day of Resurrection will be the one who was dissatisfied with the decree of Allah.' ۸
۱۲۷۸.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : إنّ في جَهنّمَ لَوادِياً للمُتَكبِّرينَ يُقالُ لَه : سَقَرُ ، شَكا إلى اللَّهِعزّ وجلّ شِدّةَ حَرّهِ ، وسَألَهُ أنْ يأذَنَ لَه أنْ يَتَنفّسَ ، فتَنَفّسَ فأحْرَقَ جَهنّمَ !۱
۱۲۷۸.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'Verily there is a valley in Hell reserved for the arrogant, called Saqar, which complained to Allah, Mighty and Exalted, about its severe heat and asked His permission to breathe. So it breathed, and thus ignited Hell!' ۲
.الإمامُ الكاظمُ عليه السلام : لا يُخلِّدُ اللَّهُ في النّارِ إلّاأهلَ الكُفرِ والجُحودِ وأهلَ الضَّلالِ والشِّركِ ، ومَنِ اجْتَنبَ الكبائرَ مِن المؤمنينَ لَم يُسألْ عنِ الصَّغائرِ .۱
۱۲۷۹.Imam al-Kazim (AS) said, 'Allah will not retain anybody in the Fire permanently except the people of disbelief, denial, error and polytheism. And whoever shuns the grave sins from among the believers will not be asked about the minor ones.' ۲
۱۲۸۰.رسولُ اللَّهِ صلى اللَّه عليه وآله : يَخْرُجُ مِن النّارِ مَن كانَ في قَلبهِ مِثْقالُ ذَرّةٍ مِن إيمانٍ .۱
۱۲۸۰.The Prophet (SAWA) said, 'He who has even an atom's weight of faith in his heart will leave the Fire.' ۲
۱۲۸۱.الإمامُ الباقرُ عليه السلام : إنّ قَوماً يُحْرَقونَ في (ب)النّارِ حتّى إذا صاروا حُمَماً (حَميماً) أدْرَكَتْهُمُ الشَّفاعةُ .۳
۱۲۸۱.Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, 'Some people will burn in the Fire, until they are burned to ashes [and become pure] - then they will be taken out through intercession.' ۴
۱۲۸۲.الإمامُ الصّادقُ عليه السلام : إنّما خُلِّدَ أهلُ النّارِ في النّارِ لأنّ نِيّاتِهِم كانَت في الدُّنيا أنْ لَو خُلِّدوا فيها أنْ يَعْصوا اللَّهَ أبَداً ، وإنّما خُلِّدَ أهلُ الجَنّةِ في الجنّةِ لأنَّ نِيّاتِهِم كانتْ في الدُّنيا أنْ لو بَقوا فيها أنْ يُطيعوا اللَّهَ أبداً ، فبِالنِّيّاتِ خُلِّدَ هؤلاءِ وهؤلاءِ - ثُمَّ تلا قولَهُ تعالى - : (قُلْ كُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ على شَاكِلَتِهِ)۱ ، قال : على نِيَّتهِ .۲
۱۲۸۲.Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, 'The people of the Fire will be kept permanently in the Fire because their intentions in the world were such that if they were to live forever therein, they would disobey Allah forever. And verily the people of Paradise will also be made to remain in Paradise permanently because their intentions in this world were to obey Allah if only they were to live there forever. So, it is due to their intentions that these and those have their permanent residence.' Then Imam recited the word of Allah, the Exalted: "Say, 'Everyone acts according to his character" ۳ and said that it means according to his intention.' ۴
